A skid steer is one of the most versatile pieces of equipment on any job site — and H&R Landworks brings ours with an experienced operator to properties throughout Pasco and Hernando Counties for a wide range of tasks. From site grading and material spreading to drainage work, pad preparation, and cleanup, skid steer services fill in the gaps that specialized equipment can’t always reach. If you have a task that requires a compact, maneuverable machine with the right attachment for the job, call (727) 326-7923 to discuss your scope.
What Skid Steer Services Actually Involves
Skid steer services — also offered as compact track loader (CTL) services — encompass the broad range of tasks performed by a skid steer or CTL with one or more attachments, operated by an experienced equipment operator. The platform’s versatility comes from its quick-attach system, which allows a single machine to switch between a bucket, a forestry mulching head, a stump grinding attachment, an auger, a grading blade, or other tools in minutes. Common skid steer tasks H&R Landworks handles include: rough grading and surface leveling for building pads, driveways, and drainage swales; clearing and grubbing vegetation for site preparation; spreading fill dirt, gravel, and aggregate material; bucket work for small excavation, trench preparation, or debris consolidation; stump grinding on isolated stumps; and light material hauling within a job site. Skid steers are particularly well-suited for work in tight spaces — between structures, along property lines, or on smaller lots where large excavators or dozers can’t maneuver efficiently. Florida’s sandy soils also favor tracked CTLs over wheeled skid steers in wet conditions, as tracks distribute machine weight over a wider footprint and reduce rutting on saturated ground.
Our Skid Steer Services Process
Every skid steer job starts with understanding what you actually need the machine to do.
Step 1 — Scope Review & Attachment Selection
We discuss your task in detail — what needs to move, where it needs to go, what the end condition should look like. We confirm the right attachment for the task (bucket, mulching head, grading blade, auger, stump grinder) and ensure we arrive on-site with the correct configuration.
Step 2 — Site Access & Equipment Positioning
We assess site access for the trailer and machine, confirm there are no underground utility conflicts for any digging work (call 811 before ground disturbance), and position equipment for efficient work flow.
Step 3 — Task Execution
The skid steer works the defined scope — grading, clearing, spreading, grinding, or moving material as specified. Our operators work methodically and communicate with you throughout if scope questions arise or conditions change.
Step 4 — Material Handling
Fill, gravel, mulch, or debris generated or consumed during the work is managed per the agreed scope — spread, consolidated, or staged for haul-off. We don’t leave material piles unless that’s specifically what you asked for.
Step 5 — Final Grade & Site Condition
Before loading out, we check the work area against the agreed end condition — level surface, proper drainage slope, clean edges, or whatever the specific task required. Punch items are addressed before we pack up.

Why Pasco & Hernando County Property Owners Choose H&R Landworks
H&R Landworks is owner-operated, which means Dylan Reeves is on-site for your estimate and on-site for your job. No subcontractors, no crews you’ve never met. We run three machines, carry full insurance, quote everything in writing, and communicate from first call through final walkthrough.
Skid steer work rewards operator experience more than most tasks. The machine’s capabilities only translate to quality results when the operator understands material behavior, drainage slopes, compaction, and how attachment selection affects the outcome. H&R Landworks operators have real-world experience on Florida properties across a range of task types — from fine grading for concrete pads to high-production clearing with forestry mulching heads.

Frequently Asked Questions About Skid Steer Services
Is it cheaper to hire you with a skid steer, or rent one and do it myself? Rental rates plus your time and the learning curve add up faster than people expect. For a one-off small job, hiring it done is often cheaper than the rental, fuel, delivery, your time, and the inevitable second trip to fix something. For ongoing work, renting might make sense.
What size jobs are too small? Honestly, very few. If we can get a productive half-day out of the trip, we can usually make it work. Tell us what you’ve got and we’ll be honest.
Can the skid steer fit through my gate or between buildings? The machine itself is fairly compact, but every property is different. Send us a quick measurement of your tightest access point during the estimate process and we’ll tell you whether it’ll fit.
Will the skid steer tear up my yard? Tracked machines (which is most of what we run) are easier on the ground than tires, especially in soft conditions. We pay attention to ground conditions and pick our routes — but anytime you bring a machine onto soft ground, there’s some impact. We’ll talk it through with you.
Can you handle dirt placement or just dirt removal? Both. Bringing in fill, spreading it, leveling it, hauling extra off — all standard skid steer work.
Do you do skid steer demo on old sheds or structures? Some light demo, yes — sheds, fence sections, small structures. Bigger demolition with permits, dumpsters, and disposal usually involves more than the machine, so we’d talk it through during the estimate to make sure it’s the right fit.
